Hello there! I'm Kevin Nail. I originally started coding because I needed to make my auctions on eBay look better so I could sell my glass back in the early 2000's. Along the way I ran into Adobe PS, some PHP, but my main foundational learning came from VBA and playing around with building applications in Excel that did anything from calculating financial returns to using the spreadsheet as a Gannt Chart for gardening- all programatically formatting the display from inputs via hilariously bloated giant complex userforms. I've since built business tools for my glass business to track various accounting and inventory aspects, and color code a display calendar as well as inventory stock so I can see at a glance where my business is at and what needs to be done.

Eventually I went to school at Alchemy Code Lab for web development officially in the fall of 2022 and learned a full stack of React/ Node/ Express with multiple group projects and enjoyed the collaborative efforts and friends I made. School closed on us without warning 3/4 of the way through, so we continued on our training on our own meeting up and creating new projects. I've since learned and implemented Cloudinary services for image hosting, AWS Cognito for auth, and even the Stripe API for collecting subscription payments for a new platform I'm currently working on with 2 friends from school that will be launching within the next month- because surely we're not going to have any surprise bugs ;)

I'm looking for a new opportunity to head in this direction professionally, so if you're in the world of coding, please feel free to get in touch and connect. I'm here coding and building and learning as much as possible in the meantime. If you have any questions or want to connect please feel free to check my repos out or get in touch through any of the links below.

I have a couple of my best projects to date below as well as some screenshots of some of my planning and diagramming abilities- one of my favorite aspects to this job is visualizing dataflows and organization of connection and accessibility/ security. I nerd out pretty hard just like it's a piece of my glass art- I make it detailed and perfect. Only then I get to dive into the code and make it real.

Using my creativity and passion to create excellent tools that work well and enhance the human experience is my jam.

These are a couple of current projects in the works I made diagrams for- the first is a group project, and by far my most complicated data flow concept. It's incorporating AWS Cognito/ Stripe API webhooks/ Cloudinary services all together. The 2nd is a garden tracker app I built in VBA which will also be an upcoming app- so I can't show you too much ;)
